Last November we joined forces with the Arizona Humane Society to photograph senior dogs and cats . This month Animal Sheltering Magazine took some time and space to write an article about the overwhelming success we had with getting those lovable seniors adopted. This is the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control's Wag and Walk program. Active dogs, big and small, are given a great day out when volunteers take them hiking. The mental and physical exercise allows the dogs to enjoy a mini-holiday, and better manage the confines of shelter life.
Despite the heat there are so many things I love about summertime. Parades down main street, fireworks filling the night sky and camping beneath the stars. But while these warm-weather attractions might be fun for us, they can be frightening and even dangerous for our pets.
